When you start a website, this is the first post already created by WordPress. And no, I dit not delete it.
This is not my first website, however this is my first really serious attempt to start my own business. Actually, this is not really true, I have always worked as it was my own business.
This is the first time I have chosen myself as the starting point, the highest priority. I work for a great employer (FedEx, TNT before) that agreed to make an exception to my wish to work less. I now work 2 days a week.
It took some thinking and planning of course. Kids on there own for a couple of years already and together with my lovely soul mate living in a big house, paying a serious amount to maintain this standard of living.
It took some (not so nice) personal/family circumstances and a very busy job as director to get myself into a burn-out. On hindsight, the best thing that happened to me in the last few decades….
Cutting a long story short…. We sold the house, bought a small house in stead, said goodbye to approx. 70% of our possessions, made the new house our home as quickly as possible.
And started my own business (XL-Growth); in fact I started two. About a year ago I met my business partner during a coaching program. We started Leadership 360 together and have already our first client – a Dutch multinational – where we guide and develop the global IT team. We share the passion for leadership and development, helping organisations to become (more) Agile and working from only a few theoretical models, but enriched and complemented with our experience. We share 60+ years of experience in various areas.
A great adventure is starting.
